Re-Committing

More than a decade ago, Daniel Harkavy wrote an article titled “Get Out of the Backseat and Drive.” It was one of those writings that hit a nerve with many and still has some incredibly relevant points for today.

Rethinking Reality and Hope

So many blogs, books, and teachings cause us to think about what we are doing. Often, we need to rethink some of our habitual actions in order to keep reality… well… real.

I have kept the discipline of this blog alive for the better part of three years. Now it is time to regroup and rethink.

Follow Your Own Advice

Over the years of my coaching, I have seen many clients come to some point in their career or their life in which they need to take some time away. My counsel has often been, “GO!”

It always rings so sweet in the ears of those I coach as they consider what it would be like to put down the strivings and burdens, the successes and failures, the plans and projects, and just get away. But people wrap themselves so tightly around what they do that taking time away can also feel scary and even negligent. I have worked through this with many, many people.

As I sit here and write this, I am writing my last blog post for a month. I am going to practice what I preach and take some time away.
